Made in Norway
To qualify for the use of the label, manufacturers in the "Industry and Finished Goods" sector must document that at least 60% of production and raw material costs originate from Norway. Additionally, a significant part of the production process that gives the product its distinct characteristics must take place in Norway.
Svane® mattresses with IntelliGel® are produced in Fetsund, near Lillestrøm, in a 27,000 m² production facility. The unique IntelliGel® material is also made here, ensuring that the key criteria for good sleep are met in the mattresses: pressure relief, support, and proper ventilation.
Made in Norway is an official and protected origin label for sustainable Norwegian products and solutions across all industries. It was launched by Minister of Trade and Industry Jan Christian Vestre in January 2024 and is managed by Innovation Norway. The labeling scheme is one of several initiatives in the government's export reform, "All of Norway Exports." The development of the origin label was carried out in close collaboration with academia, businesses, and private and public organizations.
Companies that wish to use the label must meet several criteria:
- A significant part of production must take place in Norway
- Contribute to at least one of the UN's Sustainable Development Goals
- Have no negative impact on the EU’s six environmental objectives
- Meet requirements for responsibility
